ok, I still can't make my little computer work with the firefox over here, even though I am using it here at the B&B in Edinburgh. Go figure! It will sign on the wireless router here but then there;s an error when signing in with Firefox! Ok, I am really not having a fun time with Linux! Where's my Microsoft? We had a great day yesterday. Even after only sleeping maybe an hour or two on the plane, I was fine with the whole jetlag thing. I slept very well last night. We went to the Royal Mile after going to the American Express offfice on George Street to exchange the travelers checks. We went into St. Giles Cathedral and found out that the Queen had just knighted 2 men there that morning. I was talking to the guy in the gift shop and he let me take a picture of the program for the occasion. Yes, the queen is here in residence at Holyrood Palace. Darn! I had wanted to go through it! Oh well. We did some shopping and sight seeing on the Royal Mile, had dinner at a Subway restaurant there and had a good time. We ran into the Money's and saw many of the BYU students there also. The Moneys had walked all the way there from their B&B. We took the local buses. All in all a good day. We might leave a little sooner to York since I can't think of anyting more to see here. I'll write when I can!!

Hello friends and family, I am here in Edinburgh at the Money's (cousin's) B&B. All went well. The one little problem was that I had lost my boarding pass at LAX. I went to the bathroom and then to buy a sandwich and when I went to sit and eat it, I realized it was gone. I retraced my steps, some 15 minutes later and after going around a couple of times, I found it on the floor of the bathroom entrance. Whew! Anyway, I sat next to a girl from Hamburg, Germany to JFK and then next to a girl named Lauren, from Park City. A BYU student. We had a seat in between us on the way to Edinburgh, so that was good. She joined the group in NY, from the Virgin Islands, where she was vacationing with her family. I think that she comes from money because she has traveled quite a bit. I ended up taking a taxi from the airport at 17.50 pounds because Bruce was taking back his rental and then they would all take the city bus in. Well, I may not be able to use my computer much because Firefox Mozilla might not work over here, at least it wouldn't work on Bruce's computer (I am using his right now.) I don't think that I can download Internet Explorer on my Linux system. Oh well, you live and learn. All is well. Well, Edinburgh is beautiful and quaint. A totally different view coming from the west, where the airport is. I had only seen the Royal mile and parts of new city. It's cool. It's in the 60's right now. Yeah!!! Well, I'd better go. We need to go over to our place and then off to see the sites maybe. Fun, fun!! Love ya, Jane No pictures yet!!

Katin Alexander

Karoline and the twins

Here's my friend Karoline Dinoff Angeles and her twins that were born 2 weeks ago yesterday, on May 31. Mosiah is on the left and Mary is on the right. The proud and tired mama is in the middle! Ha Ha! I think that it's safe to say that she didn't know what tired really was at this point. I was her lamaze coach, but they took them by C-section and only one person can go in there with her. Since her sister was here, of course, there's no question, she should have been there for the birth. Karoline's husband, who's in Mexico, was also able to attend, via web cam and laptop in the OR room.

Laura (her sister) and I took about 200 pictures or more, between the 2 of us that day, in various stages of dress or undress. Here they are sleeping peacefully, all swaddled up. We then took off their hats for another round of photos and then got them diaper naked for another round. Poor kids were probably traumatized even more than they already were, from all the flashes.

See, they were probably saying "ohhh, we are cold!!" Or Mary is saying, "Mom, he's touching me again!!" (Oh, Mosiah is still on the left and Mary is crying on the right. It might be that she is sticking herself with the end of her plastic hospital bracelet in the cheek.) Cute babies!!!

Geno's speech

Geno got chosen from his class, along with another student, to go to the finals of the 4th and 5th grade speech contest, at Rossmoor Elementary School. Here he is doing some last minute "cramming" before the program starts. His friends Sarah Jenson and Keith Ahlstrom, also made the contest. Don't tell me that all of those talks in Primary over the years hasn't prepared these LDS kids to be able to give these speeches and be comfortable in front of large audiences. Another reason to take your kids to Primary, as if we needed one more. :o)

Geno's teacher wanted them to memorize a part of Dr. Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech and he wasn't too enthused about it until the teacher actually showed a video of him giving it. Geno was so inspired by it that he wanted to give his assigned speech like Martin Luther King. Geno's speech was also entitled "I Have a Dream ... that there will be no more bullying". He gave it in the same manner as Dr. King, actually using a vibrato in his voice and a southern accent. He brought down the house!! Not only was his delivery great, so was the speech that he wrote on the subject of bullying at school or in life.

Geno won third place for his efforts. WE all think that he really should have won it as the other 2 ahead of him weren't really any better than his. (We are not biased at all!!) Actually the superintendent of the district (one of the judges) went up to him and also told him that he thought that Geno should have won, but the other 2 judges didn't agree. He then said that he was a Dr. and had more schooling etc., and that he knows better than they do. Hmm, interesting. There's Keith and Sarah on stage with him. (Keith is on the far left in the blue shirt leaning forward and Sarah is next to him on the right.)

Here are some proud parents!! Not too bad for a 9 year old with 10-12 year olds too. Way to go Geno!!! We are sure proud of you!! I'll see if I can get help to upload the video of the speech. This might be well beyond my intellectual capacity where computers are concerned. :o)

This was at our ward's Easter breakfast and Primary quarterly activity, as was the last picture here. This is a cute little photo of Katin in his mom's arms. (I've been told by a certain aunt in Utah that I don't post enough pictures of Katin, she doesn't know what he looks like. Hopefully this helps her out!! He's just tooo cute!!!)

I was playing around with my new lens and the baby, in the waning sunlight of their front room (away from everyone else) when we were invaded by Malia and Isaac. Here are a couple of cute pictures.

This was the Easter breakfast and some of the games they played. Let's just say that this twosome didn't last very long. Two 4 year olds trying to do the wheelbarrow race!!! But they get a gold star for trying. Oh, that's Isaac and little girl, Evie, in my ward. Cute!!

The last month or so...

I don't remember the occasion, but Ericka had us watch Isaac and Malia one Monday night. (Oh, it was the night before Gene's 40th birthday, so it was April 6th.) They came over in their jammies, already bathed etc. We took Grandpa to school and he wanted to take the kids up to his classroom to show them off, so this was in Dad's office where they were coloring pictures to post on his wall. We had all of these errands to run while they were in their jammies. I thought for sure that Ericka would kill me. (We went to Party City to get the balloons and Over the Hill paraphernalia for Gene's 40 th Birthday dinner/party the next day.)

This was the next day at Marie Callendars Grill for Gene's birthday. Gram and I are the only ones out of the photo. Yumm, Creative Cakery chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting!!!
